Default PO157 Code After Specific Work Done

OK guys - try this one on. My RX330 went in for a couple things:

1) Brake Master Cylinder Reservior Replaced as part of a Recall
2) Front bank Valve cover gasket was leaking EVER so slightly, but I wanted it to get fixed before the powertrain warranty expired.
3) Oil change

Pay my bill, start the car in the parking lot of the dealership, and much to my suprise the CEL and VSC light stays on...a first for my 330.

Jump ahead, service writer tells me that during the valve cover gasket swap, that the tech got some of the fliud or oil onto the O2 sensor. How does any fliud from a valve cover gasket swap get to bank 2 sensor 2, which is right before the cat converter???

They fixed it at no charge but with this particular dealership, I don't really trust them.

Thoughts appreciated.

it's good this happened when you started the car at the dealership. I wonder what their response would have been if these lights had appeared the next day or the following week. Any other Lexus dealers at a reasonable distance from your house? I have been fortunate with mostly a trouble free car. The closest Lexus dealer to my home is 101 miles, so I mostly have work done at the Toyota dealership. Of course that won't work for warranty work.

Yea really - very lucky it happened then and there. There has never been a light on in that car ever, so I really think it was them that did something. I'm going to check tomorrow to see if they actually replaced that sensor.

This is the same dealership that I paid to do a coolant flush in my 300, and about 6 months later I noticed that the fluid in the radiator and the overflow tank was still GREEN...I asked a guy at the dealership if they ever used anything else other than Toyota Red for coolant and he said of course not...I caught him dead to rights...only problem is that car is not here in PA anymore. I really hate these bastards at this dealership but you just don't have any other choice for warranty service. I get all of my routine stuff done at a Toyota dealership.

Care to at least share the city of the dealership involved? I do travel to PA quite a bit and probably will want to avoid.

Grumpa72, is that not your neck of the woods? Any words of wisdom about dealerships in this area for the OP?

Well they did actually change out the sensor - I confirmed it yesterday. I just don't know how something like that happened due to a valve gasket repair. Chalk it up to mystery...
