Default rx330 2005- stereo - speaker question

Hi there,

i have a lexus 2005 rx330. i have a standard, non levinson, non navi 8 speaker stereo system. i want to replace the front speakers. i know that they are simple 6x9's-- just simple woofer cones-- i opened the door with a professional. i want to replace them with 2way or 3way 6x9's. my question is, will i get the highs coming out of the new 6x9's, or will the highs be filtered to the separate tweeter that comes standard in the lexus? some car amps filter the hi's... does anybody have any details of the specs? maye even amplifier specs? anything would be helpful...

also-- i'm thinking of using speaker baffles-- any impressions out there?

thanks very much!

The signal will be without the highs. The amp does a LP filter on the output for the woofer.

Hi Petterf, thanks for the response. That is waht I feared. so simply replacing the door 6x9's will not do the trick. do you sugggest changing the tweeters instead? or is there something that can be done to the amplifier? I don't want to go way over budget-- i just want decent highs and lows from the front-- right now the lows are ok but the high are terrible.
