Default Noisy Bridgestone Dueler Alenza

I have Bridgestone Dueler Alenza tires on my rx330. Is it me or are they NOISY? Has anyone put car tires instead of crossover/truck tires on their rx? If so, what brand and are they quieter?

How many miles are on your tires? I just got the Alenza's installed today on my wife's rx350 and I think they are just as quiet as the oem mich the car came with. I've read some posts where people complained about noise after 30,000+ miles but not before that. Btw, the oem's on her car were shot after 21,000

You'll be glad you have the Alenzas on when the snow starts falling. They are awesome in the white stuff and will last longer than the OE tires. Mine were replaced at 16K. And I never had a noise problem, with the stereo cranked

There is about 12K on them. I noticed it before my wife but after we came back from a long trip she noticed it also. I'm use to riding on Michelins and don't mind paying extra for quiet.

OK, kidding aside, what do you have your tire pressure at? I kept mine around 34 PSI, never below 33. Or it may be something other than the tires.

I know a few people have liked the Yokohamas. Tire Rack can also give you some solid alternatives. Definitely stay away from Goodyear. Good luck.

I take it you have Alenzas. Why is your tire pressure higher than recommended?

I've got 35k on my set of Alenzas and they are still very quiet. Quieter then either my Goodyears or Michelins. Much better handling too, IMO. I keep the pressure around 32psi. After 35k I still have 9/32 tread depth.

Yes, I had the Alenzas on my 330. They got me through some nasty winters. I bought them from my favorite local tire guy. He recommended the Alenzas and the PSI for them. They are heavier than the OE tires and have a higher speed rating. But I liked the ride much better than the OE Goodyears. Noise was not an issue for me.

I managed about 34K out of the Alenzas in mostly city driving before I went with the OE Michelins. I could have gotten a little more out of them but winter was coming. It was also 3 months before my 450h came in. I didn't want to take a chance.

Default Bridgestone Dueler - 2nd pair

I just bought my 2nd set of Duelers for my 2007 RX350. The first set lasted 67,000 miles and aside from my mechanic telling me it was time for a change, I didn't notice much deterioration in performance. With that said - and with the new tires on - I have noticed a much smoother and quieter ride with new tires, fresh balance and new alignment.

I live outside of Chicago and these tires work great in snow. I can easily start from a stoplight with no spinning (probably has as much to do with AWD as the tires) and the tires hold great in the snowy corners as well. My mechanic recommended the Assurance CS Fuel Max, but some reviews complained about the noise, so at the end of the day, I stayed with what worked for me for the last 67,000 miles.

67K miles is excellent for a car of this weight. My wife's got a set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde tires with 20K miles on them and about 20K miles to go. So far no complaints, but tires can go downhill pretty quickly below 7/32" tread depth. Tire noise also has a lot to do with groove patterns in the road, so some tires might be more pleasant in certain regions and horrible in others. I know a lot of people how returned Pirelli PZero Nero tires in my area because the rain grooves on the road weren't compatible with the tire's tread pattern. Drivers complained about vehicle instability at speeds about 50mph.

Just got some Dueler Alenza Plus'sfor the tread rating/durability. Definitely louder than the Michelin MXV4's. Overall happy but definitely louder.
