Good call. Toyota is now so sensitive with fluids being used, as well as Honda. What they have specified (fluids) will more than satisfy the design intent for reliability.
x2. Most transmissions are very sensitive to the fluids you fill them with, no need for any additives.
Just like the brake recall they have. Turns out (at least from their claim) that their brake fluid has "conditioners" and as such, not using it will hurt the seal.
In reality, the failure mode is the seal. Their seals must withstand contact with the normal DOT 3 fluid, non-Toyota brand, without conditioners.
