Can't remove Oil Maintenance Required Light
#16
What kind of car do you have?
Hi All, dash was replaced couple of years ago under recall by dealer. Afterwards I was unable to control passenger windows rolling down, setting seat position, resetting maintenance required, and dimming nav screen to night view. Trip ODO also was not accessible. I have since (thanks to YouTube) been able to reset windows and seat position control, which gave me hope about the ODO problem. I have followed the steps to reset maintenance required, holding button down with ignition off, then turning ignition on. I've held it down from around 5 seconds to 30 seconds in multiple attempts with no luck. Anyone have a solution or thought as to what is going on? Many thanks!

Hi All, sorry to dig up an old thread. Just did an oil change even before the maintenance light came on. Attempted the procedures as above but the ODO does not changed to the dashes. Does the maintenance light need to be turned on already before this works?

You need to hold the ODO button for more than 5 sec for the it to be completely reset. There should be a countdown timer on the odometer if you did it correctly.

I had the same trouble
Thanks for this thread. I’m from foreign county so first I’m sorry for my poor English.
I was struggling as you reseting the maintenance required light until I found this thread. But several tries, I finally reset the light.
I have 2008Lexus RX350
The point is pressing ODO/TRIP button and turn ignition to ON almost at the same time.
I pressed ODO/TRIP button first then turn the ignition so no 6 dash appeared on the odometer.
Once you know the right procedure, it is so quick!
hope this will help other Lexus owners.
