Default Sporadic Upshift Delay--Help!

I have a 2006 RX 330 w/AWD. Purchased new, now has 84,000 miles. In the last few months it occassionally seems to be stuck in a low gear for much longer than it should, and when it does shift it's a very rough shift. I haven't brought it to the dealer because I can't predict when it will happen.
I searched the site and it looks like several people had a similiar problem when the vehicles were 1-2 years old with <25K miles.
Do I need to have the car re-programmed or...............?
Thanks!

you're probably experiencing that slow, rough and abrupt shift from 1-2-3 gear that most RX owners experience. even with the flash from the dealer, it still does it...just less. i've learned to live with it. check your transmission fluid level or change it to see if it helps.

Check you service history and see if the transmission fluid has been changed. If not, a system flush is in order. Noticed a little difference when I had mine done at only 45K. The rest, as blackrx330 states, could be just the norm.
