Default Warranty on OEM Floor Mats

Have had the RX 350 since Feb 2008. At the time of purchase I also bought the OEM floor mats for the front and rear.

I noticed the other day, the front drivers side mat has worn thru and a hole has developed about the size of a half dollar. Apparently this is where I rest my left heel when driving.

Does anyone know the warranty on the OEM floor mats?

Thanks in advance.

just get a heal pad, adhere onto your carpet and be done with it

You bought them separately from the car, so if anything I think you'd have a 'standard return policy' timeframe. It's been almost a year, so I'm guessing you're out of that timeframe anyway.

Quit digging your heel into the car while you drive!

j/k... +1 for the heel pad

after working at a dealership you really get tired of warranty questions.

warranty is only for manufacture defects, not wear and tear. i suppose you want them to replace your brake pads and tires too cuz they are wearing out. what are people thinking.

There is good reason why the customer is confused .... Competitors are covering wear items like brake pads etc.

The reason I asked the question is I would expect mats that I paid $90.00 for to last more then 1.5 years.

I was debating between the OEM and ones manufactured by Weathertech, which by the way were half the price and a lifetime warranty.

I understand manufacturers do not warrant normal wear and tear, however mats should last more then 1.5 years and 16,000 miles.

My last vehicle had the cheapest mats I could find and they lasted 9 years and I think I paid $19.95.

Ask the Dealer, What does the Dealer say? What we all say doesn't really matter.

Might do it as a good will jester.

I feel your pain. I posted a similar post some time ago. I bought the LEXUS ALL WEATHER floor mats and within a year I had a hole in the same place as you. Apparently the thinest part of the mat is where your heel rests. Kinda makes you go "ummmm..." doesn't it.

I have the carpet floor mats and considered the Lexus OEM all weather rubber mats but decided that I would just buy another set of carpets when they wear out. Price is about the same and the carpet just looks better. Takes a little more trouble to clean them but that is no bigee.

all-weather rubber ones is the way to go, imo. will literary last you the life of the vehicle itself.

I use the rubber ones in winter and have 2 sets of carpet ones. A couple times a year, I vacuum them and put them in my front load washer. They come out looking almost new.
