Platinum Warranty: Discounted?
I purchased my 09 RX350 in Sept 2008 and passed on the offer for warranty. Since then I've considered the extensive electronics and potential expensive repairs, not to mention other possibilities.
Question is, has anyone been able to get the Platinum with a discount? I've left a voicemail for the finance manager with my request for quotes and still awaiting the #s. But I will also check with other Lexus dealers. I've been warned about aftermarket, generic warranties and the potential hassles if I want genuine Lexus parts and service.
I'd appreciate knowing what experience you have. Thx, Rick (Capitola)

Typically you go back to the sales person you bought the car from... (s)he is you sales contact at Lexus. This is not a binding but preferred specially if you are in the same town and the sales person is still at the dealership.
Just like sales price this is negotiable.

Our approved Lexus vendors can quote you the Platinum warranty at a discount (as far as I heard the last time).
If you are not successful, PM me, I might know somebody who can set you up.

No, I don't play soccer!
Scout356, I hope you can do a lot better than I did. Good luck.

the business manager is the right person to see, they sell warrant, the salesman will be useless, as they are most of the time, they only know the vehicle, and even then not so much.
second, are you looking for a discount because there are miles on the vehicle now?
also typically you can buy extended warranty as long as you do it prior to the expiration of current warranty

I was quoted $2175 today for the Platinum warranty on my '07 RX350 with 15000 miles with coverage up to 8 years or 75K miles from in service date with zero deductible. The other warranty offered by the Lexus Dealer was only approx $75 less. Comments please. Agent stated that he had zero markup with this price. I doubt that.

My dealer bought me my Platinum warranty about 6 months ago. This is on a 07 Rx350 2wd. 5 year extension up to 100k miles and 0 deductible. The cost on the paperwork was $1515 (or 1530) which is what they paid Lexus for it. I would think this is Lexus' cost for it.

I have an RX 400h -2006
My receipt says I paid $2,300 for my platinum warranty with $0 deductible but he took off $1,000 off my final price of the car. He said he had to do that because the dealership wouldn't discount the warranty. I bought it at the time of purchase. i have coverage to 125,000 miles/5 ears...l bought my lexus used.

Quotes are high, I am sure you can get them lower. You can get quotes from anywhere, from Toyota or Lexus dealers. They will all come from Lexus. Try some more.
