Higher resolution Nav screen
After driving a bunch of newer model loaner cars from Lexus, I love the fact that the newer generation screen has a much higher resolution ( 256 pixel vs
32,000 on a Gen 5)
I would have to switch both screen and computer and the reseller will custom make gen 4 to gen 5 adapter harness. Cost is $2500.00. Would give me $1000.00 trade in of old equipment. So the total would be $1500.00 to switch systems. That includes shipping and any tech support instructions of removal the old unit and detail instructions of installing the new unit. It also includes the latest maps info.
Is this worth doing ?

You can get a really nice (and superior I might add) Garmin (several Garmins actually) for that price. If you have $1500 just laying around and no use for it anywhere else, then I suppose it would be worth it. I'm a gadget freak myself and do admit the higher res screen looks nice. Me personally though - I could think of better things to spend that money one, like dedicated rims with winter tires (not really needed in CA I guess).
