Extended Warranty Cost
We just took delivery on a new RX 400h and want to buy a Lexus-backed extended warranty as we keep our vehicles for a long time. We are interested in the 7 year Platinum plan with both the 75k and 100k mile options. Have been quoted $1840 for 75K miles and $2600 for the 100k miles option. Does anybody have any pricing info they would share? Are we correct in thinking that we could buy the plan thru any Lexus dealer and still have it honored by the dealer from whom we purchased? If so, is there a dealer out there who might give better pricing? TIA

Does Lexus acknowledge and recognize this kind of 3rd party warranty ?
On another note, we paid $2495 for 6 years 100k miles, there is no 7 years plan offer when I purchase my CPO 06 400h. I didn't see it on the Lexus pamphlet either. When I had my Scion tC I also bought the platinum plan same coverage for $795, it paid for itself when I had a check engine light and end up replacing the entire automatic transmission and ECM which cost way over $7000 and all I have to pay was a $50 deductible fee. Lexus parts and labor are not cheap dealer charges $150/ hr on labor and parts are an arm and a leg so I recommend getting the extended warranty so you have it covered while you are paying off the car and one incident (for example Nav or A/C broke ) will pretty much paid for itself already
