Default Transmission Release "thunk"

Hello all !!

If I have missed a search for this topic please post the link fo r me.

I have an 04 RX330 2wd and when I am driving and let off the accelerator to glide I hear what sounds like a mini "thunk" and it feels like the transmission is letting go and allowing me to glide.

Is this normal. Please say yes. I just turned 70K and asked the dealer about this last month. They stated it was normal.

I did see a post on there where someone got a kit with a tranny line that had a different style mount where it mounts to the vehicle. I tried my own version of insulating the mount with solid rubber and essentially doing the same thing as this new style tranny line. I still have the same exact noise. It just feels like it cheapens my ride.

EDIT- OK I FOUND
TC002-04 - Driveline Thump During Deceleration from the thread "2004 RX with clunk sound when stopping - FIXED "

Now my question is How many people has this actually worked for?

I did the Diy and it worked for me...have not heard anybody else do it. I was hesitant like you when I saw all it was that the mounts were changed. But it solved my thump...

well, I noticed that when I let off the gas pedal and glide a little bit, when I put my foot back on the accelerator it revs to 3,000RPM and then BANGS into gear. The dealership said it was normal but I know something is wrong. I floored it on a freeway on ramp yesterday and all it did was red line... it didnt go any faster... then it banged into gear so hard, I thought my 09 was a gonner... I need to take it in again. I am sick and tired of getting the "it's normal" response. There is something WRONG with my transmission. I didn't pay 45,000 for a piece. I was expecting something that at LEAST lasted to 100,000 mi without any problems. I only have 1,300mi on my car...
