Default 2008 rx350 gasoline

Is it really necessary to use premium gasoline in the RX350? Will regular grade gas damage the engine? If not, are there any other disadvantages to using regular grade gasoline?

Yes it is. In the new Lexus engines (3.5 versus 3.3), premium is required.

You will get less mileage out of regular, and it will damage the engine over time.

Seriously, you bought a $40K car and you're worried about $0.15 a gallon difference?
