Valet Key Programming

I have read numerous posts about programming keys and understand that I am in for a visit to the dealership.

The question I have is this: If I only have a valet key, can a master key be made without the dealer having to replace or flash the car's computer?

At the moment I have 1 master key only, and don't want to pay $275 for another one, but don't want to get raped if I lose the only key I have. I can get the valet key for $125 which will do as my spare if I lose the master, but it will be a pointless exercise if I cannot use it to make a master, should I lose the original.

Also, if I get a used key on ebay that is already cut, can I program it myself to open/close the doors/trunklid, (i.e. the remote functions) and if so, how?

I know the used key wont start the engine. My thought process was such that I can give my wife the valet key and the used ebay key, when both combined will enable her to access the car remotely and drive it.

I have used the search function and cannot find an exact answer to my questions, although I did find the gas/brake pedal procedures and wonder if this will program the used ebay key for remote functions.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Nigel
