thanks for the welcome.
no real big issues with my 07'...i've only owned for about 3 years now and the only issue i've had was to replace a rear wheel bearing. this rattling has been my biggest pain in the !@$## and I'm so glad it was an easy fix...i just duct tapped a few rectangular pieces of foam to the cover and bingo..it was fixed.

I put a piece of weatherstripping between the plastic piece and the body. But I also took 2 half-inch sheet metal screws, drilled two holes through the plastic and underbody and screwed it all together. It's failsafe and clean. If you're concerned about corrosion you could put a drop of silicone around each hole between the plastic pan and the underbody.

Rattle - use foam
Just a comment. I used the double sided tape on my 07 and it helped for about a year and then the noise came back - although not as bad. I think the tape had become hard. So I cut a small (4 inches) piece of the foam insulation you get for a water pipe and attached it to where the tape was. It is fairly soft and I have not had any noise for years. Just another approach.... Very inexpensive.

Is this the piece?
My 2011 IS does the same noise at my ear level at door when going over cracks in the road at slower speeds, not highway speeds. Is this the piece under the car that needs a foam piece to dampen it? Also is the TSB posted?
