Liquid graphite wheels?
When I started this thread I was concerned about damage occuring during a tire change. Knowing the process in which the color is applied would help in the repair process. Has anyone had their wheel damaged when a tire was removed? Deep scratches on outside edges occurred to mine when the tire was removed for a simple nail hole patch. Are these wheels more susceptible to damage?
Painted wheels are always more prone to damage. A high end tire shop will use special coated tools that will minimize or completely prevent scratching. Tires Plus type shops are not all like that. The dealer is also not a great place for that type of thing, or at least ask up front if they understand what they are doing and what the risks are.
I was just chuckling at this thread as I read it. Sounded like someone may have thought that liquid graphite was a process and not a color. Imagine what a bamboo pearl car would be made of.
Just kidding of course...
