Thanks for the reply G Man. I never asked about the status of the brake pads when I bought the car, nor do I know how to judge it for myself. My wife is a new driver and heavy on the brakes, so I suppose that could explain it. I was just surprised because I assumed that the dealer would have certified the car with a good amount of pad on it and I can't believe that she could wear them down that much in one year. Thanks for thoughts on the filters!

Gosh, that's rip off.. You can take it to your local Toyota and have them do it for ~$200 - $250.

 

Wow, steep. $500 for what? Fluids change, checking brake pads? Yup.

 

Thats a expensive oil change, tire rotation and car wash. Beside checking this and that, do they actually change any other fluid beside the engine oil?
