Question Clear paint protection carwash question

I just purchased my 08 RX350 2 weeks ago, and had the dealer install the clear paint protection the offer through the lexus dealer. I got the entire front end kit, including the head and fog lights and side view mirrors and door handle wells. The products paper worked branded it as Rock Block. I can not find anythig on this brand on the web. I would imagine this is just re-branded. Anyone ever heard of this brand or know what it actualy is? The dealer has a shop they use exclusively down the street from them and they did an excellent job on the install. When I went to pick it up I noticed just a couple very minor bubbles and they brought it down the street while I was there and it was back and perfect with in 15 minutes. I would definatley reccomend getting professional instalation. My RX is Flint Mica and I only see the line when looking up close. I am very pleased with this product. On past vehicles I have had new paint chipped far too quickly, so this was a must for me. Another question I have is about washing the vehicle now. I have read that it is reccomended to hand wash the vehicle, but in CT during the winter this is not always realistic, and this is when I believe the vehicle would benifit most from washing off the sand and salt. Can anyone recommend a particular car wash type that would be OK durring the cold weather months? I also read that using a carwash with recycled water is not reccomended. How do you know which ones do and which do not? Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks in advance,
CTtech

And if you want to wash the car properly, but can't do it outside, do it in the garage. I use Optimum No Rinse Car Wash and it works very well.

I've used RockBlocker products before. They used to be a local company, I think, before moving to Arizona. No complaints here.

Thanks,
I am going to try the Optimum No Rinse. This looks like exactly what I am looking for. I really prefer to do it myself as I know it gets a thorough job that way.

There are a number of similar products marketed as ClearBra, Xpel, and Stongard - and probably many others that are basically a 3M product. The individual companies have their own proprietary cuts they make on this film, but it is generally considered the same product - some manufacturers (and installers) do a better job than others.

I put it on the top of the rear bumper of my '00 RX 300. They didn't have that ugly black doormat in those days, and I wanted something to protect the paint on the top of my bumper. I DIY'ed the install - in a hurry, in the dark, in the cold, the day before my vacation started. I learned a lot about installing the kit, and have considered DIY-ing the full set on my 330. That plastic film survived over three years of abuse - heavy cargo going into and out of the liftgate, having things propped up or falling against it, and other horror stories. When the lease was up, the bumper had one tiny pit where it had been cut - and was more invisible than the day I applied it. It's pretty expensive, but well worth it. I will have the full kit on my next RX!
