It's amazing how people will cheap-out on brakes/rotors thus endangering the lives of others.

Due to the issue (plus my VIN # is included in this TSIB), I thought Lexus would have replace the rotors and pads as per the attached TSIB. Any ways, I can get them replace those? Thanks!!

For those whose rotors warped in the first place because of overheating, turning them will be a temporary solution. Because I don't like removing material from the rotors, I generally do not automatically turn them as part of a routine pad replacement. I only turn them if the surface looks bad or if I'm getting pedal pulsating symptoms. I have been replacing the rotors every other pad replacement and I think that's a very conservative approach to maintaining enough mass in the rotors so that they won't warp easily. The Germans appear to have gotten away from turning rotors altogether (Mercedes and BMW at least) and routinely replace rotors with pads. I think that is overkill and have gotten excellent results with pad replacement only. While some will tell you that it will take longer for the pads to break in, I have not found it to be a problem and the pads seem to be fully seated after a couple hundred miles.
I completely agree, the argument of new pads bed-in quicker with a smooth surface is not valid because 1) microscopic pore still exist on freshly cut or new rotors, what is smooth to the naked eye is not really smooth at the frictional surface 2) both pad and rotor surfaces are constantly re-shaped by every brake applications. 3) cutting rotor is the inferior solution to brake warping, it does not increase heat disspation surface or capability of heat absorption.

Very good aftermarket rotors, which are even better than OEMs, are Brembos. You can get either cross-drilled (more expensive) or regular (less expensive). Both will do a great job on RX.

I've used their rotors on my MR2. Nice product with lifetime warranty.

Any suggestion on brakes while you are at it?

Are you using Brembos currently?

yeap.

I purchased the regular version of Brembos (non cross-drilled) since RX330 is not a racing vehicle by any means. Since the purchase, my wife put almost 40k on rotors without any issues of warping or vibration.

I got mine from http://www.tirerack.com/

You might want to check with them as they often have these rotors out of stock due to their low price and rotors popularity.

Andrey,
what pads are you running with those Brembo rotors: OEM or aftermarket?

to all-
Do brake parts from a Toyota Highlander exactly match RX330's for the same model yr? How much are you paying for Lexus OEM rotors and pads?

rotors - brembos (from tirerack)
pads - performance friction (from AutoZone, lifetime warranty)

I believe HL rotors / pads should be identically the same. At least that's what my system shows.

I am so frustrated with the OEM rotors on my wife's 2004 RX330 AWD, next time the rotors warp on our 2004 RX330 (to date, they have warped at 26K, 52K, 62K and 74K and the TSB has been applied -- so it will happen again); I will order the performance rotors from brakeplanet or the Brembos.

After the problems we have had, the lifetime warranty from brakeplanet is intriguing, because Lexus hasn't cared much once we were beyond the warranty.

What kind of "remedy" was offered to you for each case and who implemented them at how much $?
