Default RX350 - CD Changer Error Message 3

I am unable to eject a CD and Error Message 3 appears. The system tries to eject making a mechanical noise, but then stops. Can anyone please advise how to resolve this? Thanks.

I had the same thing happen to me last week...

What i tried was to turn it off...and then change CDs and then let it start playing a song and then change it back to the Cd that had the error. Then it worked just fine.

Did you have an error on CD 6?

I had an error 4. Brought to the dealer and got a new one under warranty.
Hope it doesn't happenened again!

Seems like this is a known issue with their CD player.

No TSB's on this. Take it to the dealer.

I was just about to complain about the very same thing...

I also got the Error 3 message on my "1 1/2 month old" 2008 RX350 cd player. I've used the CD player once! I took my car to the dealership yesterday and they have to order a new one for me. It won't eject 2 or my CD's either. They have to send the broken unit to Alpine and then send me my CD's once they get them out of the player. I will get a brand new, and not refurbished, CD player. But it still sucks that a brand new car would have to have the CD player replaced.

the problem is the type of CDs. My 2004 has never had this problem, and i put anything and everything in there.

however, they must have changed something. The new one doesnt like burned cds, nor rewritable cds either. be careful.

I see this ending up in a TSB, too many complaints we are hearing about...

Wow, that sucks. So the units are made by Alpine....interesting. There's only few players in the Audio game....Panasonic, Alpine, Clarion, Fujitsu-Ten, Pioneer.

Hello,

I have a 04 and i'm having the same problem. First, I received an ERROR 4 message and that went away. Then number 6 disk slot stop working. And now it's giving me an ERROR 3 and I can't get my Cd's out or put any in. So, from what i'm reading I guess I have to take it to the dealer. :-(

I had the infamous error 3 and 4 on my unit soon after the factory warranty expired. My dealer refused to replace the cd player under warranty and quoted me $895 for a refurbished unit.
In the end I sent my cd player out for repair. It was a Pioneer unit in my04 RX.

Seems to be a fairly common problem in the in dash CD changers. I know a lot of people that had there replaced under warranty in the IS, and RX and other cars with the in dash 6 changer.

If its such a common noted problem why won't Lexus step up to the plate and issue a TSIB?

Exactly my point. Everyone has encountered this issue at some point but yet Lexus refuses to acknowledge its a known issue.
