NEW 08 RX Joins the Lexus Family
Took delivery of a new 08 RX on June 29 and drove to Orlando for a week. That had to be the most comfortable drive of my life! Blk on blk, ML with Nav, AWD, 18 in. wheels, DVD rear entertainment, XM, etc. It was down to the RX and X5 for my final choices however, I could not except the I-drive and the no auto tailgate feature. Also, my 07 SC needed a mate for the garage. This was an easy choice considering the luxury and reliability of the RX.

Great family! Whereabouts are you in GA? I am in Marietta. Welcome to the RX family!

I'm jealous...both of your garage and the two beauties in it.
Congrats on the purchase. Spending almost a week in an RX loaner clinched it for me...this is definitely a terrific vehicle. I totally agree with your reasons for not choosing the X5. I narrowed it down to the RX and the MDX, and chose the RX mainly on cost & dealer experience.
I agree that the rump on this thing would look so much better with a matching exhaust tip on the left corner. Edit... kinda' like this one from http://www.tte.de/cm_lexus_RX300_XU3.htm:

3 Bay Garage
Thanks for the comments CL members. There is a 3rd single car bay hidden in the pic just to the right of the 2 car bay. Hope to put a LS460 in there next year!! blk on blk of course---lol

Why would you want two tail pipes? I can't think of a single reason to have two pipes but there are good reasons why one pipe is better. Car engine designers usually make decisions as to how many pipes to put in for a reason. Dual pipes are usually put into V8 cars in order to better handle the air flow of the two extra cylinders. Putting two pipes adds cost weight and results in added expense in replacement costs and usually require more frequent replacement. Putting two pipes on a 6 cylinder car will cause the muffler to rust out sooner because the two mufflers will not heat up enough to get rid of the condensation if you do a lot of short distance driving. So the question is what is the benefit to putting two pipes on a 6 cylinder engine?
PS nice garage I have a 3 bay garage and don't have enough room. I keep all my tools reloading equiptment lawn mowers, snow blowers etc in one bay and I have my two Corvettes stacked on top of each other in the big garage and my RX400H is on the other side and my Jeep winds up being left parked outside. I am selling my NY house and moving to SC and am going to have a large two car garage added to the existing two car garage. It seems like no matter how much garage space you have you wind up needed more

grrr, living in San Francisco doesnt give me a lot of car room. I have a one, yes one car garage. So...my RX goes in, my IS is off in a rented garage one block away, my Sienna parks in the driveway and my old Merc on the street.

I wish I had a 10 car garage so all the cars are kept inside shaded and protected. Wouldn't that be nice? Or a 3 car garage would be good, too. Nobody has 2 car garages anymore....I still do.
