Scrolling and Multiple phonebook entries
I have a 2006 BMW 330i and my phone's phonebook gets downloaded into the car's system automatically everytime I get into the car with the phone. I between trips I add/store new phonebook entries in my phone, the next time I get in, the new entries will be available for scrolling using buttons on the wheel. Does Lexus 350 have something like this ?

no. as far as i know, the phonebook transfer must be initiated on the phone and BT system to transfer contact names; it does not happen automatically. also, some phones do it, while others don't, so there is a compatibility factor.
as far as scrolling, lexus safety prohibits searching of phone book entries while in motion, however 17 #'s are available for 1-touch dialing which are available when in motion. there are hacks around this so you can have full BT capability on the move, but it involves cutting wires.

On your Bimmer, is that a Bluetooth phone link, or a wired in dedicated system?
The way you describe it working is excatly how it works on my wife's E-class, but hers is a wired in phone installation, not Bluetooth, and you have to connect the phone to it's cradle to get it working.
On the Lexus Bluetooth you can't transfer the phonebook automatically as you get in.

Bluetooth
In my bimmer it is BT. I have tried 2 phones MOTO V600 and Sony Ericson T637 and both work great. No wires. This is because BMW (and MB) software and the phones support the BT SIM Access Protocol, unlike most cars that use the BT Handsfree protocol.
I am thinking of getting an RX 350 without BT and add a BT kit later. Any after market BT kits that integrate with Car audio ? For instance, muting radio on ougoing/incoming calls etc ?
