You folks have way too much time on your hands. All this work to disable an obvious safety feature!

Yeah maybe, but you have to admit the RX looks pretty cool with the park lights on just before dusk (with out the DRL`s)

Yeah sometimes the DRL are annoying. You want to arrive softly, incognito, but with DRL's, you are always ready to blind somebody!

I might need to do the DRL disable feature but with a switch. So therefore on demand!

Truly agree, when on the road, use the DRL for safety. But getting into a parking lot, etc., be nice and be quiet.

Obviously Lexus listened to customers when using a disable switch on the 2010 model.

The instructions posted imply that setting the parking brake turns off the drls. This doesn't seem to be the case with my 2008 400h. Anybody know if it should be? Thanks.

Big thanks for the thread!!! I hate DRL's and especially hate that I cannot control features on a car. In my case one of the FIXED DRL's was angled way up and blinding drivers. I was wondering why everyone was getting so mad when I was behind them.

Now I put a toggle switch in so I can control if they are on or off. It amazes me how many personal settings are not able to be changed at the dealer.

Now I just need to figure out how to stop the car from re-locking the doors after 60 seconds because it also shuts off my aftermarket remote starter. Ugh.

FYI, There is a way to turn DRL's off in the personalized settings. At least for the 2005 rx330. Using an interface cable and going into the computers, I found an on off setting for it.

I installed 2 LED strips to act as my DRL and have disabled the old DRL through Techstream.

Did you do a write up or have any pics? I was considering doing this as well.

Hey guys, new to the forum here and my very first post. We just acquired a 2006 RX400h and the first thing I did was disable the DRL. I was going to start cutting wires or switch out a relay but found a more simpler way. Used the Techstream software to disable the DRL, it was clean and easy. Cheers! Oh BTW, before I did this I spoke to a service advisor at Longo Lexus and he said it could not be done.
