I have gotten into some car domain fights with some rival SUVs. Yeah, the profanity gets involved. Usually, it involves my commenting that they talk about something they don't show the picture for.
I have some upcoming modifications to the my air intake system that I will hopefully do tomorrow night (before weekend racing) or Sunday to ram in some more air. Of course will take pictures. Once I get my Liqui Moly gear/differential oil (hopefully this week it finally comes in at their distributor
) I want to do another series of photos like the MAF sensor. I don't remember if we have done a photo segment of this on our forum. Anyone?

Yeah, fortunately Lexmex's home state and Mexico CIty (for foreigners) do not care about emissions (even though I have tested and would pass down here), so as to allow my modifications. Being at over 7,000 feet, the air is way too thin and I need more power. Not sure about where you are at if they have emissions testing.
I recently posted a picture of the that Blitz kit for the 1MZFE (it was I think for the Alphard/Estima minivans). I am not sure if it would work on your particular engine configuration, but usually these types of kit require modification to the throttle bodies.
What I was thinking about was installing light compression turbo (such as one off of a 1.8T Jetta or Audi A3 or a Garrett T2 turbo) just in front of or behind the cat (maybe ditching the resonator) as a turbo would also cut down on exhaust noise. A simple return air pipe would go near where my rear precat used to be and then go right into the air intake pipe just after the MAF or I could stretch it further and put it in front. Since the return air pipe would go underneath the car, it would get cooled and since the boost would be 0 to 5 psi, no need for intercooler. Some people say I would not even need a blow off valve on an automatic transmission. However, the turbo would definitely have an internal wastegate. In addition, rather than using a Greddy eManage or an AEM management system, I would have a manual boost control.
This would be like a Stage 1 until I could make transmission upgrades including strengthening the torque converter.
The TTE Kompressor (though way expensive) came with an intercooler from my recollection. Even if I had the cash, I don't like superchargers due to growing up and watching the SC belts break.
I am also sure someone out there in the world has done an RX turbo already, they just aren't stepping forward or maybe I have not looked hard enough. It's doable.

no emmisions test here, as long its not noisy
have u heard of my country MALAYSIA?
the blitz kit will not work on mine, they work on 3.0 engines only

Even with my exhaust in Mexico City, the police do not care either. I mean we have parties going on in the neighborhood on weekdays (like right now outside my apartment building) with bass kicking at full blast...and nobody cares. When I ask my neighbors about it, they tell me such is Mexico.
My Mexican friends and family (Uncle by way of marriage) do have emissions testing here, twice a year. However, about $50 USD will get you a pass if you car has mods or is screwed up for some other reason.
The best thing is that you can speed at 100 mph plus (160 km/h) out here on the highways. They place speed bumps on the residential streets that are the size of hiils.
A turbo on my RX would throw me in the 16s on my stage 1 idea up here.
I was thinking about driving down the West Coast of Mexico all the way down to Costa Rica. Everyone says that I'll get robbed or the wheels stolen on my old Landrover Discovery. Is that true? They say never travel at night etc. I'm not taking the RX. I have a brother in law down in Costa Rica. I was going to leave the Disco down there. Do you think it's possible to drive end to end through Mexico if I'm careful? Any tips? Muchas Gracias.

psst, here abt 12 - 25 usd can get u out of trouble. but the government is putting an end to this practice, and serious punishment if found guilty

Now, you day trippers into Mexico, such as going to Tijuana or Nuevo Lardeo, don't need any of the above as there is a border zone.
LandRover does have dealerships here in Mexico, but not by where you you'll be driving. The only reason I took off my Lexus center caps on my car is that they would get hot, crack and fall off down here, not that they would get stolen. For these reasons, I don't see anyone stealing anything as your truck is rather rare here and the parts market won't be high. Same for my Lexus as there are no dealers here.
At Pemex stations, whatever you do, do not fill up on Magna (unless your LandRover is diesel, I don't know) just Premium. Magna is like filling up your car with raw oil or mud and it smells. Filling up that garbage destroyed one of my precats. Also, watch the pump to make sure it starts on zero before you fill up. I tip exactly 10 pesos, about $1 USD.
I have driven all over this country, and have found everyone quite helpful.
Costa Rica is such a lovely country and I have been down there many times. There is a delightful beach village, Los Sueños, that I often go to.

i love my countryBribery of the police used to be common in Mexico City, but now they have people who watch the cops and even cameras downtown. The last mayor, who is now running for president, really put a stop to this practice.
Recently, the Mexico City government instituted stationary radar cameras (like in the U.K.) at points along the major arteries in the city. Soon, Mexico State that borders Mexico City will institute them, too. Now, I have U.S. plates, so do you think they can do anything about that. Nada, both me and my buddy Michael in his RX-7 (he is leaving soon) have been taking advantage of it.
Meanwhile, my Mexican track buddies have turned it into a game. Remember the speed camera thing in Need for Speed Most Wanted. That is exactly what they are doing. When you go pay your ticket (there is a place online you can check your plates to see if you were caught or pay next time you go for emissions testing), they tell you your speed. You can imagine, "You were the fastest SRT-4, now you are just a plain Neon, look at my record speed." It is only about a $24 USD fine per infraction...no points or anything. We had someone clocked out here doing 270 km/h (a little over 167 mph). It was rumored to be an S series Audi, but not someone we know at the track. Still, just about a $24 USD fine.

I asked the place that I got my previous Harrier book from, but have not heard anything. I checked around the net, but they all indicate out of stock and I let the guy at the one place know that. Kind of strange since it shows the book having been released January 2006, but I guess it is popular.
Does your new Harrier book show anything in the way of performance upgrades or is it much like that last Harrier Book?
yup, should be popular, i bought the book in singapore, my neighbooring country. the last time i went its out of stock too, how much are u getting for a book?
will double check on the contents later tonite
wat will u look for in the magazine?
