Question Charge for 10K, 15K, 20K etc...

Just hit 10K on my 330 (since June 25th). Had the 5K done, no charge. When do they start charging for the services? I just don't want to be surprised by a large bill on these; just want to know before I take it in....Thanks.

get ready for the ouch ...if you go to the Lexus dealer. here's an example i posted a few months ago in the GS forum:
_______________
Lexus dealer quoted me $495 for the 30k service.

Toyota dealer just charged me $372 for same service (that includes the $30 cabin filter too). They told me it's essentially the Avalon 30k service, as the cars are almost identical underneath.

[There is no Lexus dealer in my home town, and according to Toyota, I am allowed to have service done by any Toyota dealer if the Lexus dealer is not located in my home town...and my warranty is secure.]
_______________

i had similar savings by using Toyota for the GS300's 10k and 20k service too.

i plan to use my Toyota dealer locally for RX service. they tell me the RX is quite similar to the Highlander (mechanically).

note: i paid thru the nose for all service on two previous SC coupes; i felt it was worth it then, since my Lexus dealer included valet pickup and loaner car (even for simple oil changes). i knew i wuz gettin hosed but it was damned cool to have them stop by my office and leave me a car. but then the dealer changed their policy and dropped the valet portion. funny, they didn't drop their prices though.

so i feel no guilt saving myself over a hundred buck$ when i can.

An arm and a leg.

Oil change (including tire rotation and a bunch of BS checks) was $92 at my Lexus dealer. Go to a Toyota ExpressLube instead.

Big one like 30K was $499.

I take my service recommendation list from Lexus to a local lube shop; 15K was $270, compared to $350+ quoted by my Lexus dealer.

10k service - wash and interior cleaning, tire rotation, oil, filter, and numerous checks was $60 from my local Lexus dealer. Same 10k service less the wash and interior cleaning on my Solara was $48 from Toyota dealer.

Default Service charges

I normally do most of my service work on my 2001 RX. I did take it in for the 30K service. I wasnt able to get scheduled into the Lexus dealer. Before going out of town. So I took it over to the local Toyota dealer. For the brake and coolant flush, oil change, drive shaft retorque, and tire rotation. It was 226.00. I washed out the the cabin air filter. And put it back in myself.
