I could use some help!
Hello. I have an 06 Rx 330. I'm hoping someone out there can help me. It started a month ago when my car was overheating. I changed the thermostat, the heat temp sensor and the water pump and timing belt and everything else that is in that kit and I had an oil leak so i.replaced all the gaskets and seals too and most of the hoses as they were deteriorating. My car then refused to start. It would crank but not start. I then checked all fuses and relays, replaced the fuel pump, fuel pressure sensors-both of them, the crank sensor checked all other sensors. I've since then cleaned all fuel injectors and replaced the spark plugs and checked all the wiring for corrosion or damage. I bought 3 different obdll scanners and they all say coolant temp sensor- that's the only code that comes up. The thermostat I guess was leaking pretty badly so my radiator had hardly any liquid in it hence the initial overheating. I have a brand new battery too. If I spray starter fluid in her she will start for a brief second but won't stay running. Does anybody know what could be wrong with my car? I'm devastated this is my 2nd Lexus and I've only owned it for 6 months. It has 180000 miles on it. I've also had my entire front end re- built and have new tires. I've put a lot of money in this car just to sell it to the scrap yard. Please help
You've thrown a LOT of money, time, and effort into your car without doing research (proper diagnosis)... that is the least effective, last efficient method of ever addressing problems.
Start at the beginning-
What prompted the initial work (was the car running well BEFORE you fired the parts cannon at it)?
Was the car in fine running order before someone messed with it?
Who is doing the work? What is the competency of the person doing the work?
Was all the work done in one session OR over a period of time (can you backtrack to which repair was done last before it would no longer start)?
