Drove to an appointment on a Monday - noticed nothing amiss
Not driven the next day
Wednesday, put in reverse to back out of garage and the car shuddered strongly. Shuddering stopped when changing gear.
Had two appointments, each requiring backing up - got some shuddering in reverse, but not as strong as the morning startup

Any ideas?

check transmission fluid level. car in park ,warmed up engine running

 

also what is the color of the fluid.. it should be bright red not dark red or black

 

Thanks for the quick responses ... turns out there was a problem with the parking brake - all fixed now.
