I did the spark plugs + PCV valve + valve cover gasket + throttle body cleaning. Put everything back together. Started engine and it started fine but then revved up to 3000 rpms. I got nervous something was very wrong and so I shut it down.

Any thoughts or ideas what’s going on? did I screw something up royally??

ok, so now it looks/sounds better BUT still idling at like 1800rpms, which is still high…

Hmm, what to check?

Hey, I think we've all been there.

 

Still sounds like you have a vacuum line routed wrong or uncoupled, possibly a plug not secured but most likely a vacuum line

 

After a restart, engine idle wasn't as high anymore, close to 1000, so I guess it's okay now.

 

My 2004 RX330 when cold first start the idle seems higher than I'd like then drops within maybe 8-10 secs
