Maybe the new fluid cleaned up whatever was clogged or jammed up inside the transmission, what's the theory on this friends?
it tested fine- it was aftermarket but standard, not performance. My mechanics theory is the clockspring failed, making the ecu go bananas cuckoo sending CEL/VSC/Traction control off because it had no idea where the front wheels were. Originally Posted by Margate330

transmission then couldn't time the shifting correctly because the ecu had no data on the front wheel positioning- flying blind.
Dunno if i agree, but hey, hes the clever boy that fixed it so he can tell the story. He said it's the hardest job he's done 😂 we were thinking dynamite and a defunct overpass as the next step LMAO

Thinking it's more likely it coughed up a furr ball and hopefully got trapped in the filter or pan magnet. Lol
Transmissions scare me because I have nobody I can trust to deal me straight.

the trans itself never hiccuped shifting- just didn't do it on the correct timing. And im pretty sure i know exactly when i sent the clockspring to its new home with the lord 🤣 that last trip i took. Originally Posted by Margate330

I agree. I just can't buy that the trans went at the same time as the alternator.
