Default Poly Bushings Question

Hi folks,

I'm thinking on changing my sway and stabilizer bar bushings after a front suspension overhaul failed to fix a "clunk" when going over bumps at low speeds.

This guy should be tight.

and these just in case

Searching Ebay I just found a whole poly kit that should fit,

Any pros and cons you might want to share before I order these?

Thanks for your time!

[QUOTE=Sazel;11684380]Hi folks,

How are the struts? We're those replaced as well? If the bushings are worn out, or you just want to swap out the oem bushings for poly bar & end-link bushings, that'd work. IDK if that'll fix your ''clunk'' thou.......Have you checked all the rear bushings as well?

Poly is great for performance sports car looking to gladly give up ride comfort for a very slight increase in performance... not seeng any advantage on a Lexus especially when rubber ones cost @$10. What makes you think those bushings should be tight or that they are the least bot worn?

I had Prothane polyurethane sway bar bushings on the back of my 2002 Highlander and I was not impressed with how rough they were for how little of an increase in response of the sway bar they gave. After a year I had enough and went back to rubber. I think for a DD poly bushings are not worth it, unless it's for something that should have zero give, like the steering rack bushings (I have those on my RX350's rack and they're fine). Or for the front control arm (these have a durability issue).

I ended up getting Mevotech Supreme for the front and rear Rockauto, they're hardened rubber and US-made, should last as long as OEM and feel great too.

Forgot to mention your "clunk" is more likely due to front sway bar links than sway bar bushings as they wear more frequently. Take off your tire they're right in front of you, grab firmly and try twisting... if they move at all they're worn out but very quick and easy to replace. Not a bad idea to replace the sway bar bushings too they are very inexpensive but again not likely your issue and I do not recommend poly
