Default No compression in cylinder 4 p304

One day after a cold start my 2007 rx with 140 on the dash decided to start driving rough with an engine light. I stop at Autozone to get the codes 304 and 302 I take it to my mechanic and they say that cylinder 4 is giving no compression and that it is “dead” and that I should just get a new engine…? Should I risk more on diagnosing a cheaper fix? It was just driving good
