Alternator related question
I am getting the Battery Icon on my 2008 RX350. SO I am thinking it is the alternator, correct?
Question, will a Toyota Sienna alternator be a direct replacement ? If yes, what Sienna years will be compatible?

Any Sienna or 2GR-FE Highlander. 150 amp vs 100/130 amp which is recommended by Denso for a longer life. The only one you can't use is one from a 3rd gen V6 RAV4 as the alternator on that car is regulated by the ECU (RLO), so it will not charge properly.
What's the battery voltage when the car is running? Should be around 14.2 or else the alt may be weak.

More then likey its the regulater, as thats what happen to ours Christmas week of '19.....I went w/ the oem 100 amp one after bench testing it 3 times to make sure & its still going strong......Its also a good idea to change out the belt & tensioner....I went w/ Gates.

How do you bench test an alternator?

I just go to the autoparts store w/ the oem one & grab a new one out of the box & set it up on their alternator/starter test bench & tested it 3 times to make sure it works. Before I threw the oem one in the box for a core, I benched that one which turned out to be a typical failed regulator.....
