i've have a harsh Clunk when going over "quick" bumps, like lane reflectors or a weird pot hole - but the car is fine with bigger things like speed bumps - still drives really really nice -
i went under the rear end - and the trailing rear control arms (for lack of a proper name) - are the likely source - they both have movement / little clunk in them - (i could have other problems - but that's certainly where i would think to start)
i haven't wrench'd on it yet -- any tips? can you replace the bushings on those control arms? or does it require new control arms?
I would have started with the sway bar bushings. Cheap and easy to replace.
Also check the strut upper mounts. You can easily feel if those are clunking by removing the tower covers and putting your hand there while someone drives,
