I thought I had a bad battery, I kept jumping it and if I drove it everyday, no problem. After it sat 2-3 days, dead. I bought a new battery to solve problem, it sat for three days, dead. No interior lights left on, radio off, anyone ever experienced this? 2003 rx 300 with 300k miles, maybe a switch stuck open? thanks
There has been many discussion on Parasitic draw. Also have the alternator checked. The alternator can produce low/no output, but it can suck the current out of the battery.
You can follow the search and typically we narrow down the problem by removing fuses till the current drop is reduced. You will need some way of measuring current and a bit understanding about the sequential drop down in current as the RX goes from active to security mode. All of it is discussed in the parasitic draw thread and a few more. I will try to add the path to the thread as time permits, but hopefully search can find it quicker for you.
