Default O2 Sensors

Just a quick question. Are the O2 sensors the same for bank 1 and bank 2?
I changed the bank 2 O2 sensor shortly after acquiring my RX and when the CEL came back on, almost immediately, the code was for the same sensor. I am wondering, if I swap the sensors out and see if the code come up for the bank 1, then I would know for a fact that I have a bad sensor?
To clarify, when I search Autozone for O2 sensors for the RX, the only difference I see is for upstream or downstream so, that tells me that both upstream sensors are the same. Am I correct in thinking this?

Hi HobieMarty,

According to Lexus Repair Manual, there are 1 Oxygen sensor, and 2 Air/Fuel Ratio sensors in 2000 Lexus RX300.
Attached files "3.pdf" shows their positions ( borrowed from 81corolla )

Bank 2 A/F sensor is near the radiator, and bank 1 A/F one is near the firewall. Replacement for both of them are Denso 234-9009, and for Oxygen sensor, Denso 234-4215.

I keep some of this in my tool box and I put a little on the threads of my O2 sensors and it seems to help when I need
to remove them in the future. I've had good success with this for O2 sensors and other stuff.

Good stuff to use when you need to remove an item in the future.
