2000 RX300 loss of power
Our 2000 RX300 has had a sudden loss of power. No CELs and engine runs and idles smooth. Car ran great and had full power last week, this week acceleration is slow. I noticed the exhaust tone is a little deeper in the low RPMs. I got underneath while the wife gave it a few revs but didn't notice anything out of place ( I could hear a deeper sound in some of the RPM band). I may put it on ramps and feel around for an exhaust leak, would a small leak around the flex pipe effect power this much? I may also get a laser thermometer and check the condition of the catalytic converter (main converter was replaced about 1 year ago). Any ideas on what else I should check or could be causing this issue? The RX has 182,000 miles.

Thanks for responding, I thought I already posted a message but it didn't go through. I fixed it 5 minutes after posting my initial message. Someone (I am guessing my father in law) must have looked at the air cleaner and did not seal the air box correctly. I put everything back the way it should be and the RX is running great again.
