K40 UN3000 found in my ‘01 RX300
I just recently found out that I have a built-in radar detector and it still works!
I know the unit is quite old but after reading the specs and manual it works just fine. I do need to rewire the pizo speakers as they came undone (which is what led me to find the radar).
My question being, how much should I rely on this tech? I live in Houston, and my vehicle has quite a few miles (405K+) so I’m not speeding all that much. However I love the idea of being able to get my babe to 500K without a speeding ticket!
I’ve included an operation manual below. Refer to the K40-2000 description for reference, as the UN3000 manual is hard to find.

Since the radar detector is not part of the RX (its a add on), you will have better luck if you post your question in the user community of the radar detector manufacturer.

Forget about it. NOTHING works on LIDARs and that's what they use nowadays. Don't speed. Crusie works? Set it 5 above and enjoy ride. Let the world speed past you. What's the rush?
