Use of green Evap Service Port on 2000 RX300.
Hi,
Does anyone know if the green cap "Evap Service Port" on the 2000 RX300 can be used by DIY'ers (maybe for smoke test input port), or is it strictly for the dealer's "Evap System Pressure Tester" ?
I've attached some pics of the green port.
Regards . . .
Port (with green cap off) is behind air cleaner (that's the air cleaner hinge in the right)

I don't know the definitive answer.
See this thread for a canister diagnostic procedure video

This post has a good diagnostic doc

Hi maxSteel,
I found a reference to that green Evap Service Port here on the Vacuum Hose Routing Diagram on the top of the radiator frame:
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the diagram. I'm aware of the port but I'm not sure if it is useful for anything more than maybe a vacuum tester.
When I had a charcoal canister issue I used a vacuum tester on all the individual hoses and valves. Perhaps one can just connect it to the green port and test everything from there.
Then I did the canister diagnostic which indicated a bad canister.

Hi maxsteel,
The pdf in Post #5 here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ml#post2218270 shows how to use a vacuum and pressure meter on that Evap Port. Again, note the warning about "1 PSI Max" on the Evac Port's green label (*** seen above).
Search eBay for "evap port connector adapter" (no quotes). Btw, I already told one seller about the incorrect $2222.95 on one of them. I bought the other one for $19.95.
