Wheel bearing gone bad?
Got under the 2WD to see what was moving (clunk, clunk) with the wheel. Tie rods and ball joints seemed solid, the movement came from where the driveaxle comes into the knuckle (pic).
Wheel bearing? Thing is, there is no roaring-type sound while driving, so could be something else. Symptoms are erratic pulling especially on acceleration. Also, car has had a clunking sound for a while but that predates the pulling issue, which really came up after buying a new tire. I moved the new tire to the rear and the pulling remained. Lug nuts are tight. sway bar bushings seem good. I am mystified.

The shaft is expected to have flex. The geometry of the suspension should flex up and down as the wheel goes over the bump.
Proper tool for the bearing is to meager runout. Shops have a dial gauge they clamp on the suspension.
