The valuation is market dependent.

Please check your local area listing.

Other sources are KBB and insurance companies. Actual [real] price depends upon who wants to purchase at what price and how the negotiations take place.

$4,500-5,200 or about 3,200-3,800 if trading it in.

If it gets in an accident that costs more than $1,000 to repair (basically, any accident), the insurance company will total it and give you $1,500.

The settlement should be 'fair market value + tax'.

What an owner agrees as fair market value is really up to them, and the matter can be pursued in courts if needed.

Without knowing the condition, maintenance, etc. I would say a good range is $4-5k.
I work for an insurance company handling total losses and this is generally what I see the 01-03's going for with higher mileage. Some of the 03's get $7-8k with lower 100k miles.

I have to chime in. My RX300 was recently hit and mainly the front fender was dented. It's a fully loaded 2001 with well over 250k and not in the best shape because it's used for hauling things around. Anyway, insurance gave $2,200. I thought they were going to total it but they didn't. Needless to say I did not have it repaired because it's still drivable. So your RX is worth something however I don't think there is a huge market for these older ones just because they are dated.

You got a great deal. If you have to deal with the other guy's insurance they can be a lot stingier. They will pull the lowest book they can and total the car if the repair is 75% of that.
