I have a 2000 RX300 and at low speeds (or stationary) with the car running, there is a rattle in the steering column when I turn the wheel off center. I looked under the dash and the universal joint that connects the two parts of the column has rubber bushings between them, and it looks like the two halves of the universal joint can knock together and make that noise. Is this a normal wear item for the steering column? Can these bushings be replaced without a lot of work?
