Hello all,

I was wondering whether someone might have a good idea as to what's going on with my 2000 Rx300. Please allow me to describe:

Couple of weeks ago, I was driving on the highway with the cell phone charger in my cigarette lighter socket. I turned the headlight from Auto to On (because it was raining). Suddenly the whole car lost all its electricals and the engine shut down and I was gliding along....no power, nothing....Could not even turn on the hazard lites!! It was SCARYYYYYYYY Luckily no one behind me to hit me from the back! This was on I278 in Staten Island!!

Pulled on to the shoulder, pulled key out of the socket, and waited a couple of minutes for my heartrate to return to normal. Then inserted the key and voila the RX started and all was forgiven, it seemed. The next two weeks, the RX worked well, ... no problem at all.

Then yesterday, I returned from an out of town trio to the airport parking lot and started the car (after 5 days). The RX started up without any problem and I drove home and parked outside my house. Twenty minutes after I parked it, I go to the car to start it to park in garage. The remote key does not work, the lites do not work, the car will not even turn over. It looks like complete electrical shutdown. I dont know what is causing this. It has been a very reliable safe car,,,

Ok, I opened up the hood and checked it out... One of the cable from Battery was worn out... I don't know how - My kid patched up the cable and it works now. Will get replacement cable later today.

At least once a month, pop open the hood and do a visual.

When you fly in a plane, a person [co-piolot] these days, has to walk all around and do a visual.
