You can also get them from www.1001headlights.com

Not from the web site though, you have to call them (1-866-567-3500)..."John" usually answers the phone. Nice guy, he said he could get me all four (4) Altezza taillights (made by Depo Auto Lamps) for around $400.

I was also waiting for www.procarparts.com to get them in, I have been waiting since November of 2002. I gave up on them and almost went with John at www.1001headlights.com, then one bright sunny morning I found a "Buy It Now" on ebay for four actual 2002 Lexus RX300 taillights for $260.00, what a steal...like brand new. Got them 3 days ago and installed them yesterday. It would have been nice getting the extra wiring harness that comes with the Depo after market taillights. I had to do some major "MacGyver'ing" to get them 1999 sockets into a 2002 taillight.

The worse was trying to find amber 7440 bulbs. I found some APC brand amber 7440 at "Pep Boys", the damn things burned out the first day. I finally took the original 7440 clear bulbs that were already on the car and painted them with yellow craft paint that was made for glass, transparent and would withstand 350 degrees (got the paint at "Michaels"). They are drying on my dining room table right now.

Getting the blinker socket to fit was a real pain. If anyone has tips on this I'd appreciate it. I ended up using a rubber master cylinder gasket for a Chrysler as a sort of grommet to fill in the space between the new socket hole and the old socket. It works pretty good. Just not my style. Still it works!

Sorry for typing so much.

hello everyone, sorry i have been away for a little while, but i have been keeping up with the altezza tail lights situation. i have been bothering procarparts.com almost on a weekly basis and today they basically in so many words let it slip that they are not getting any more. they wouldnt even let me know where they ordered from so we could ask another shop to make an order. but after reading the post by badams i called www.1001headlights.com (1-866-567-3500) and john did answer, he was really nice but he told me he wasnt 100% sure he could get the newer style tail lights but he said he would look into it. i also told him about the forum and asked him if he didnt have time to call me back specifically with details if he would post any info he could find on the forum. i was also thinking maybe we should see how many of us want then for sure and approach him with a group order to possibly get a better price. he seemed really nice so he may go for it. cant hurt to ask, its killing me having the new headlights and old taill ights... looks rather funny

what you guys think? if john comes through should we hit him up for a group order, even if its not an official clublexus group order at least we can give the guy an idea of the demand, it may also help motivate him to find the lights we want.

just my thoughts..... the search continues for the almighty tail lights

(anyone know anyone in japan maybe they have an idead where procarparts was ordering from?)
