Default IS 300 17" wheels on an RX300?

I was wondering if anyone has tried putting the IS300 17x7 wheels on an RX? - Would the offset work? Would I need spacers in the rear? - What size tires could I run (255-60-17)? - Any info would be helpful

Question

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing. I currently have a set of IS300 rims and tires on my stock 1996 ES300 and they work perfectly. I could try putting one of them on my wife's 1999 RX300 and letting you know?

Of course it would look funny with the small 45 series tires, but it would at least let you/us know that the rims fit.

The design is very similar to the stock 5 spoke RX300 rims, but they would be slightly bigger. I bet with the right tire combination it would awesome.

If I get a chance this weekend I'll try one of the rims or maybe two on one side (to make sure they fit front and back).
