Like my new tires
Just letting the community know about my experience and recommendation in case anyone needs tires and doesn't want to spend too much. As a cheap and lazy bastard I've been riding Goodyear Integrity's as they came on my RX when I got it in 2001 and either I wanted to match the spare, or only needed three tires etc when I got replacements. Got sick of the poor handling especially when the tires got to 5/32 at 30,000 miles each time and took a shot with Kumho Solus KH16. Got 'em through Tire Rack at $90 each (Integrity's were $103) and got 'em installed through a Tire Rack installer for $66 complete mount/balance/new stems/disposal and $75 for a 4 wheel alignment with a Tire Rack discount. Total cost $501 and while everyone loves their new tires compared to their shot tires, I know what new Integrity's felt like and these Kumhos are a way better ride; been riding them about 2,500 miles so far. Ticks me off how I drove on those crappy tires for twelve years but better late than never. Time will tell how the Kumhos will wear.

Good to hear. Keep us posted.
I'm running General Grabber HTS tires. Only cost me $400 installed once I sold the old tires for $80 on craigslist. Have about 11k on them now, tread depth still looks like new. Rides great, excellent steering response. I believe these tires won #1 in class a few years back.

Yep, I have had the KH16's for several years now. Very good tire overall. Only downside is I think they are poor in the snow (but I have dedicated snows, so I don't care).

Resurrecting an old thread here.....
I just had a set of the Kumho Solus KR21's installed this morning. Wow, are they quieter than the Bridgestones I had on the car!
Obviously it's too early to give a thorough review, but they were 109 each installed at a local dealer here in Milwaukee.
I was going to go with another set of BS Duelers, but they were more money, and I just couldn't see spening the extra on tires.
Everything I've read on these Kumho's says they're a pretty good tire.
We'll see........

You should get 40-45k on both the KR-21 and KH-16 tires. They'll be bald by then. Make sure you rotate and balance them though. The mileage warranty on these is around 60k to 65k, if I recall, so don't expect that. Kumho won't honor the warranty anyway. I've had 2 sets of KR21 and one set of KH-16's on my RX. They wear evenly and handle good and for the price. They are a good 40k tire, so don't be too disappointed if they're looking worn at 35k. You buy two sets of Kumhoes for the price of one set of Michelins for 80k miles.

Not honoring a warranty is no good for me.
I had a set of Michelin's Cross Terrains get to the wear bars in 32k and they prorated me another set. Granted they held my feet to the fire for documentation and spoke to my dealer on the phone but they honored it.

I just installed General AltiMAX RT43's on our '01 RX-300 AWD
Previous tires were Good/Year Assurance Comfort Tread's which were a good tire for this RX-300 and ran the G/Y ACT's for 6 years. Severe sidewall cracking though the tread was at 4/32nds. Not lots of miles on the ACT's (@ around 40K miles)
OE tires were Integrity's which sucked though, lasted almost 60K. Horrendous on ice...too much ABS!
The General AltMAX RT43's are equally as quiet as the G/Y ACT's and am hoping for some better roadability and cornering. Not all out cornering, just better than the ACT's. Hopefully better MPG too!
The RT43's should do even better in the snow though the G/Y ACT's were OK too but, getting expensive!

Love my Michelin ltx
My 2002 had the michelin LTX when I bought it used with 88 on the car. They were almost new then. At 150k put on new LTX® M/S2. Great snow traction, comfort and wear. not cheap but worth it!

Sorry for the delay in responding.... They are doing fine. I've only put about 1800 miles on them since July, but they are fine. I saw a slight up tick in mileage on a recent trip, but that could be a result of a few different things. Never the less, I don't regret buying the Kuhmos
