I've done some research and will be getting the 'ROSTRA" unit.

Thanks for the info.
I was thinking about getting the same unit.

However, one of the local installer here is asking
for $499 for the unit and installation.
I believe the unit itself is only about $250.
(for the pro, it should take no more than 30 minutes so that works
out to be $250 per 1/2 hour or $500 per hour - man,
i am in the wrong profession).
Perhaps i should install the thingie myself (looks pretty
easy). Does not relish the prospect of taking off the
bumper myself, though.

My dad got it done in Hong Kong for about US$150 with everything included.

Default try installing it yourself

having been a professional mobile electronics installer for 12 years, i can tell you that it will surely take more than 30 minutes to install that, you enginerd types think everything is easy but try and drill 4to5 precise holes in your rear bumper and wire up the entire system in 30 minutes. my shop charges $50 per hour and 3-4 hours would be the right amount of time too have it truly professionally installed

Default Easy Installation

Hello MrPeabody,

Most likely, you are correct.
At any rate, I believe i saw this 30 minutes number in one of
the Rostra disti's web site.

PS: We enginerds think it should take 30 nano seconds
to do this. And the enginerd's manager probably
think the actual time should be more like 3 nano-second. )
