Cold Air Intake Performance Mod Question
Hi All.
I'm new to the RX forum and ClubLexus. Looks like for a great place for RX300 owners to be.
Just picked up an RX300 '99 silver and love it of course, but the wife loves it more and has it out in the 10" snow we had last night up here in NewEngland.
Q: What's up with these 20+ HP performance mods I am seeing on eBay. Seem to be offered for many vehicles. I've read through most of the posts on this forum for the last year but I see no mention of this so called mod. I surmize their $3-$8 mod is the 4700 ohm resistor inserted in the cold air intake sensor circuit to trick the engine controls into thinking the mixture should be enriched.
What's the reviews/thoughts on this?
....going out to shovel now!

Audio- Thanks for the input. Right, I would not go for such a sham. Just wondering if anyone had an evaluation of just how non-effective this so called mod is. I agree, an airbox and intake is the way to go. It's my RX - so the intake and exhaust mods as discussed in other threads such as WeaponR and RMM are on my list.
