Opinions please. Looking to buy a 2000 RX300 with 163,000 miles. Has new rebuilt trasmission with a 3 year warranty.. $5995 Sounds like a good buy to me.. Interior is emaculate, has only had one owner..

 

Hmmmm, sounds like a god buy, But I would have either them or an indipendant mechanic pull the valve cover to check for sludge. (Before purchase)

 

With any used car purchase there are many risks one has to take, but with that said, the price sounds fair.

 

Good price. Make sure to check what ever possible like engine oil, tranny and see the records of services.

 

Thank you guys.. I thought the price was very fair so I pulled the trigger. I will take it to my mechanic to check for that engine sludge I've been hearing about. I'm a long time Lexus owner (92 LS400, 08 GS460). This is the first I've heard of this.. I really appreciate your responses..

 

I just bought a 2003 RX300 with 115,000 miles on it last week that looks showroom. Really enjoying it, you'll be happy!

 

He will be IF there is no sludge.
