Had VVT replaced code P1349
Was not going to post this but I saw the recently discussed DIY VVT. I was driving a few days ago and my check engine came on, was going to use my code reader but then the check engine began flashing and it began to run very rough. I did not want to mess with the flashing check engine and as I have AAA type service through my auto insurance I had it towed to my indy. Code P1349, faulty VVT, I think he said bank 1. Replaced the VVT, total cost $320. Does not seem bad compared to my googling dealer prices but certainly the DIY would be the way to go. I just felt with the very rough idling and flashing check engine and me not being handy it was not a DIY situation. Got it back and everything's fine. Now I'll keep my fingers crossed on nothing happening for at least six months lest my wife starts politicking for me to get rid of it. 219k and will be 15-years old June 2013. Running beautifully other than this hiccup. And greasing the air mode servo 6-months ago seems to be a permanent fix...
