SUNROOF, Budges but wont OPEN or CLOSE....STUCK
Hello,
My sunroof is basically stuck closed. Push the button to open & it grunts & budges a little but doesn't really go anywhere. Ditto when you push forward to close and/or pop the back up.
Searched for solutions but didn't really find any.
Help??!

Thanks for the question,
In short nothing, no groans or grunting, It just does nothing( though I suspect the motors getting juice and burning itself up).
I tried some little tricks I found here an there but they called for popping up the sunroof and what not and mine really doesn't go anywhere, definitly won't pop up. It grunts but only budges...1/4" in either direction. The motor definitively activates, but only briefly.
Regards, pk

Sorry, not much help seems to be coming ..
I am reluctant to suggest an assist to open as it might leave you with a larger problem ( sun roof that does not close). All mechanical things must be used on regular basis.
A visit to the dealership or competent mechanic may be needed.
