Sadly, it's still in the shop. I had been arguing with the guy for quite some time because he didn't properly do the job, so I took my car to another body shop specialist. I should be getting it soon.

Sorry you are going through all this. Too bad you weren't in Northeast Texas, I know a really good and reasonable paint guy here. Keep us posted.

Default You got a good quote

I think $2000-$3000 is cheap. I did similar damage to a honda civic in 1990, I rear-ended an accord or camry in traffic, and it was $2000 for bandaids and rubber bands (i.e. shop patches it back together), or $3000 for all new panels, TWENTY+ YEARS AGO. There was no radiator damage to my car, either. I went the $2000 route because I was a starving grad student. Consider yourself lucky to have affordable body shops in your town (mine was in Central Illinois, "Champaign Auto Body", and they were the lowest quote in town ...)

Hi,
Sorry about your RX. A deer hit me April 2012. It had somewhat similar damage. Actually my right front end looked like it had little damage. Ha. It had to have a new hood, grill, right front head light and air conditioner condenser. Totally cost over $3700.00- closer to 4K. Body shop did a great job with the body work. Problem air conditioner worked fine until they replaced the dented condenser. (It was drive-able and so I didn't mind waiting a couple of weeks for the body shop. Great body shop.) When I got the car back the air conditioner went flaky. Shop replaced the condenser but it just never worked right. Took it back to the body shop 3 times, they used dye and black lights etc. . They never could find out what the problem was. Took multiple trips to my mechanic. He finally was able to track down one of the problems. Pin hole in one of the hoses close to one of the hard to get to parts. Body shop never went totally through the hose system. Long story, one thing after another, suspect problems started with the wrong condenser but no real proof. Body shop should not do mechanical engine work and stick to body work. By the way my mechanic has a sterling reputation and is the best, honest and fair. The dealership ripped me off for 3 years before I found my mechanic. Hope everything works out for you. I love my car and plan on keeping. Car is in great shape.
